Briefs: Jambaloosa music festival is canceled

Wednesday, June 18, 2008

Jambaloosa, a three-day festival of music scheduled for June 27-29 at the Mines and Meadows Resort in Wampum, Lawrence County, has been canceled.

The festival was to have featured more than 30 bands, including the Boogie Hustlers, Jazzam and the Poogie Bell Band.

According to Jay Rogovin, a production manager with Bugsly's Cavern Stage, creative differences between that company and TK Productions concerning contractual agreements led to the festival's demise. Rogovin stated in an e-mail that a modified version of the event, retitled Bugsly's Cavern Festival, is being planned for September.

Erick Gross, founder and executive producer of TK Productions, did not return a phone call seeking comment.
